On September 23th, Franz Roessler, Commercial Counselor of the Austrian Embassy in China, and his delegation visited Zhongguancun Development Group. They toured the group’s exhibition hall and held discussions with Zhou Rui, Deputy General Manager of the group.

Both parties introduced their respective layouts in sci-tech innovation, industrial advantages, and international cooperation. It isagreed that China and Austria enjoy complementary strengths and a high degree of alignment in sci-tech innovation, with broad prospects for collaboration in fields such as bioscience, intelligent manufacturing, new materials, and sustainable energy. Against the backdrop of accelerating global technological transformation, open and collaborative innovation serves as a crucial path for industrial upgrading and joint development. Deepening exchanges and cooperation between innovation entities of the two countries is of far-reaching significance.

Moving forward, the two sides will establish a regular communication mechanism, leverage their respective platforms and network resources, and deepen pragmatic cooperation in areas such as enterprise exchanges, startup collaboration, joint innovation platform development, talent exchanges, and high-level interactions. The aim is to promot the two-way flow of innovation elements—including technology, talent, and capital—and promote the implementation of cooperation intentions.

Both parties expressed that they will take this exchange as a new starting point to expand the breadth and depth of cooperation, refine a long-term and stable cooperation mechanism, give full play to the role of sci-tech innovation as a bridge for people-to-people diplomacy, enrich the Sino-Austrian innovation cooperation ecosystem, and inject lasting sci-tech momentum into the development of bilateral friendly relations.

The event was attended by Liu Tong, Senior Project Manager of the Commercial Section of the Austrian Embassy in China; Lu Peng, General Manager of Zhongguancun International; Li Xiliang, Deputy General Manager; and Xun Fei, Head of the German Representative Office.
